Help a bird find a home
It's the time of year to make sure that garden birds have plenty of homes ready for spring by putting up a nest box in the garden.
It’s estimated that each year around two million birds fledge from nest boxes.  There’s an array of shapes and sizes to choose from, depending on the species you are providing for.
Don’t forget, young birds are fed literally thousands of insects (mostly caterpillars) while in the nest. If you are encouraging a feathered family into your garden remember that this goes hand in hand with gardening for insects too with plenty of flowers that will attract them.

Searching shores in 2012
This is beachcombing with a purpose: a way of surveying the beach and recording what's found.  Throughout the year we are running a monthly Shoresearch at various locations on the Lincolnshire coast.
The next Shoresearch is on Saturday 11 February at Anderby Creek.

A Living Landscape
For 60 years, the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust has been safeguarding wildlife havens. Now we must expand these and create a Living Landscape where our nature reserves are an integral part of the wider functioning landscape and not isolated oases.
